Our Philosophy
Our philosophy on education is based on fostering the natural sense of wonder, curiosity and excitement children have to grow and develop through hands-on learning and experiences.
Kid’s Haven Preschool is an in-home environment, which we believe is the best atmosphere for children to learn in. This allows for a more safe and secure feeling for the children, as they feel more at home, and allows for a smoother transition into the traditional classroom setting of traditional kindergarten.
We are dedicated to providing a warm, safe, nurturing environment for our children, and helping to foster their natural curiosity, wonder, and excitement by allowing them to learn, grow and express themselves through hands-on learning and experiencing.
We also understand that children grow and develop leaps and bounds between the ages of one and kindergarten, and we respect each child develops at different rate, and should be treated on an individual basis in order to ensure they reach their full potential. Our smaller ratio allows us to dedicate more time to each individual child to ensure that they reach their own fullest potential.

A Letter From Our Director
Welcome to Kid’s Haven Preschool! I’m so excited you’ve decided to explore our preschool to see if we would be a good fit for you and your child.
I’m sure you’ll like what you see on our website, but the very best way to find out if we would be a good fit for one another is to schedule an appointment to come in and visit us. Tour our facility. Ask questions. See how your child interacts. I’m sure you’ll feel the warmth and comfort that we bring each and every day.
I have been working in child care for over 10 years. I began working as a Recreation Aide at the after school program at Gant Elementary in Long Beach. Following that I worked as the Kid’s Room Supervisor at Fitness 19, and I began my tenure at Kid’s Haven Preschool in 2015 as a teacher, and have since taken over the role of owner and director, and I could not be happier. I have an incredible love for this preschool, this community, and every child in our care.
KHP has a staff of creative, knowledgeable individuals from diverse backgrounds who are phenomenal! Our parents are also always welcomed as we are partners in caring for your children. We invite you to share ideas, give feedback and get involved through volunteerism and participation in school events.

Our Curriculum
Our curriculum is designed to prepare children socially, academically, and emotionally to enter Kindergarten.
We provide our children with a fine balance of standard academic, age-appropriate, lessons on everything from letters, shapes, numbers, colors, days of the week and months, in Spanish & English, to higher end subjects like literacy and mathematics, with a heavy emphasis on helping to foster and nurturing children’s natural sense of wonder, curiosity, and excitement for learning through hands-on experimenting, engaging, and experiencing.
This approach helps children retain the knowledge they receive and builds a foundation for an enthusiasm in learning that will last them right into kindergarten and far beyond.
Early education follows a predictable, sequential process necessary for future success in school. Much like you have to learn to crawl before you can walk, and you have to learn to walk before you can run, our curriculum is built in the same developmental principle, that a child must be ready for the next step in order for it to be more meaningful.
